It changed the way consumers and developers look at ways to use comic book properties in video games. The series has always been immersive, passionate, and of the highest of quality. It is all the more impressive when noted that developer Rocksteady had only a single game published prior to bringing to light their concept for a game starring the Caped Crusader. Even WB Montreal did a fine job of keeping the universe in sync when they delivered their prequel Arkham Origins. It has been a long six years or so, but the team at Rocksteady has done nothing but impress each time and they delivered immensely within Arkham Knight. 7/16/2015 0 Comments #TBTReview Super Paper MarioI would like to take this moment to recognize the passing of Nintendo's President and gaming icon Satoru Iwata who passed away on July 11th at the age of 55. He leaves a void in an industry that appreciated his passion more than he will ever know.
Super Paper Mario is one of my all time Wii favorites. There is elegance in simplicity, and the 2-D epic had plenty to spare. Its lovely visuals tied in great with the turn based combat familiar of the series. The twist here was the ability to change perspectives of landscapes from 2-D to 3-D at the press of a button. This made for lots of fun hidden items as well as puzzle solving. Games like this are so fun. Humor and adventure done right, it beckons to be explored and opens the player up for a lot of engagement. I anticipate a sequel will be made at some point, but for now Super Paper Mario remains my favorite. 9/10 By Edwin Velez ![]() Guardians of the Galaxy, even after the release of Avengers 2, remains my favorite Marvel movie to date. For being such an underdog gamble, it paid off immensely, shattering records and remaining number 1 at the box office for many weeks after its release. Chris Pratt shines in this quirky action comedy that Marvel has grown to perfect, with James Gunn managing to take a relatively unheard of Marvel property and propel it into having the love of the masses. The movie just works so easily and naturally. Between the casts chemistry and the excellent use of licensed tracks, everything just comes together. It is a fantastic movie, fit for both adults and children alike, and every time you watch it you are bound to pick up on a joke that probably "flew over your head". Its got heart like no other, and will make you connect with a tree-being who has limited vocabulary like you could never have imagined. Guardians of the Galaxy is something to be admired and appreciated, and will go down in history as a huge accomplishment for super hero movies. 10/10 By Edwin Velez 7/5/2015 0 Comments Quiplash Review![]() Quiplash is yet another brilliant party game from the makers of You Don’t Know Jack and Fibbage. The concept is a simple, yet engaging one. It was successfully created via a Kickstarter campaign, which I contributed to and obtained a copy because so. Using your phone, laptop, or tablet as your controller, players respond to two different posed questions. There are very few issues with a smart party game as this. Although sometimes it can be a battle of who can use dirty words the most, more often than not it is a laugh fest that is easily accessible for everyone. At only $10 it is a must have, Quiplash is cheaper than a movie and will entertain you and your guests over and over again. 8/10 Read More By Edwin Velez 7/2/2015 0 Comments New Batman V Superman PicturesAs part of Entertainment Weekly's Comic-Con coverage, the new issue goes hands on with the upcoming Batman V Superman. Let the excitement (and criticism) rage on! Check out the images below. Original story from EW. By Edwin Velez
Watchdogs is a wonderful new franchise from Ubisoft. If you have yet to play it, it is one of the better current gen experiences out there. You are Aiden Pierce, an elite hacker with a grudge. You are known as The Fox, going around taking down the baddies of modern day Chicago one malfunctioning cell phone or traffic light at a time. The game offer plenty to do, from gun combat, stealth, racing and more. The open world is very fluid and a great example of how living ecosystems should be. Random events may not be quite as high of quality as Rockstar fame, but Ubisoft makes privacy invasion feel so good. Graphically the game is beautiful. Firefights are great, on foot controls work, but the cars not so much. The story has some excellent moments without a doubt, but the lead character falls flat for thre most part. All in all, Watchdogs is solid grounds for a new franchise. The completely wired world is all accessible from your fingertips, and this unique concept needs to push new hardware limits in a current gen only sequel. Lets just hope no one is watching us like this in real life. 8.5/10
