Hardwired: TekBotic Aluminum Headphone Stand Review

Picture
If you are like me, you probably have a fair amount of gaming accessories, if not more than you really need. Among these accessories, you are bound to have a favorite, that one item you can always rely on and love to show off. You may, overtime, replace this item with the newer, shinier model. Regardless, you still want to show off the favorite one right? Well when it comes to your headset, Tekbotic has a great way to go about it. Without further ado, allow me to introduce the TekBotic Aluminum Headphone Stand.

Tekbotic makes a lot of great things, and the Headphone stand is another great entry in their lineup. Since there are not really any technical aspects for me to cover this time around, this review will be a bit shorter, but I will cover what I think is important in guiding your purchase. First off, the product is packaged exceptionally well. It comes with some light assembly, but only takes a few moments to put together. After that, you will notice you have quite the sturdy product. The metal looks nice and feels very durable, and the end result represents that very well. As for the actual part that holds your headset, it gets the job done. I wish this piece was a bit wider, as with some headsets they might lean awkwardly one way or another.
One of the key aspects of the stand is the sort of storage part in its base. There is a rounded dish section on the base that fits most cords. This prevents a mess and keeps dangling cords nice and organized. What I also found was that this was a perfect fit for my Turtle Beach Stream Mic. The rounded base of the mic sat very nicely in this dish, and still left enough room for me to wrap my headset cord around it. I love the way it looks with my mic based on it, which adds to the overall package for me.

At the end of the day, this product is not for everyone. While the price is currently being experimented with, the original list price was $40, which is much to high. Though high quality, its uses are limited, so I would expect a fairer price to be around $25. It is great for collectors and streamers looking for a great way to display their tools so to speak, so if you are in the market for a stand, Tekbotic has a great one that supports their consistency for making quality items for gamers.

Rechargeable, replaceable batteries power the headset for up to 15 hours non-stop on a single charge, making it the perfect wireless headset for marathon gaming sessions. An easy-to-reach volume control roller and mic mute button on the left earcup makes it simple to adjust audio settings on the fly and to automatically mute the microphone, just fold it up. Logitech G203 Prodigy Gaming Mouse Coming Soon

Logitech has a new mouse incoming from their G Prodigy Line. The Logitech G203 Prodigy Gaming Mouse aims to bring an easy to set up and relatively cheap gaming mouse to the ravenous, Cheeto-eating hordes of the PC Master Race. There is no firm release date, but it is expected to launch globally near the beginning of January for a suggested retail price of $49.99 (EUR 44.99). Here are some of the key product features from the official press release.

Gaming-Grade Performance: The Logitech G203 Prodigy Gaming Mouse communicates at up to 1,000 reports per second – eight times faster than standard mice – so that when the mouse is moved or clicked, the on-screen response is near-instantaneous. Advanced button tensioning further refines the experience by keeping the left and right mouse buttons primed to click and delivering exceptional click feel, response and consistency.

Classic Design: Inspired by the classic lines and simple construction of the legendary Logitech G100S Gaming Mouse, the Logitech G203 Prodigy Gaming Mouse boasts a familiar design that has been re-engineered and optimized for versatility, durability, and everyday comfort.
Picture
Cutting-Edge Sensor Technology: The Logitech G203 Prodigy features a new 200-6,000 DPI sensor that delivers the utmost accuracy, tracking speed and consistency, so you can play to your full potential. Designed in the U.S. and manufactured in Switzerland, the sensor gives you better control, so you can start training your muscles to aim by feel, not just sight.
Quality and Experience You Can Trust: For more than 30 years, Logitech has been leading innovation and advancements in computer peripherals. Each piece of gaming gear is designed and tested in Logitech’s state-of-the-art research and development labs and held to the highest performance standards.

Programmable Lighting, Buttons, and DPI: The Logitech G203 Prodigy Gaming Mouse can be used directly out-of-the-box, or fully configured using Logitech Gaming Software. Choose from a palette of up to 16.8 million colors and different brightness levels to match your style, system or environment. Configure any of the six buttons to simplify in-game actions. Switch between up to five sensitivity settings using on-the-fly DPI shifting. Save your preferences to the onboard memory and easily use it on any PC.

Sounds like a pretty good product. Not everyone wants to dish out $100-$200 for a mouse, so it’s nice to have cheaper options. If we can get our hands on one you can expect a review on our Hardwired column in the near future.
