I’m sad to say it, but the rumors flying around that Final Fantasy XV was delayed have been officially confirmed by Square Enix. The official worldwide release date has been pushed back to November 29th, 2016. The reason given for the delay is that the development team is going to use the time to further polish and test the game to ensure fans have the best experience possible. Now I am a HUGE fan of Square Enix, Final Fantasy, and RPG’s in general. So while I am disappointed that the game was delayed, I know that Square will deliver a great RPG experience as always, so I’m not too worried about it.
As of now, Square hasn’t decided if they are going to change the release dates for the disc versions of KINGSGLAIVE: FINAL FANTASY XV and BROTHERHOOD FINAL FANTASY XV. The digital version of KINGSGLAIVE: FINAL FANTASY XV, however, is still slated for August 30th.
The following is an official statement released from Game Director Hajime Tabata
“From the moment we joined this project, our vision was to create a level of freedom and realism previously unseen in the series. Regrettably, we need a little bit more time to deliver on this vision and are confident that this new release date will help us achieve this,” said Hajime Tabata the game director. “As the director and lead of this project, I wish to personally apologize for the additional wait. As a team, we want FINAL FANTASY XV to achieve a level of perfection that our fans deserve. We kindly ask for your understanding.”
