Hardwired: Tekbotic Monitor Stand REview

Picture
If you take a quick look at the monitor stands Amazon has to offer, you will notice a lot of glass and plastic models, most of which are rather dull in appearance. Though some are affordable, they lack the sleek look you may desire for your desk, especially if you have a particularly expensive or stylish set up already in place that needs that final touch. Take one quick look at Tekbotic’s Monitor Stand and you will notice immediately that it sets itself out from a crowd. Built from high quality aluminum and durable plastic, this stand is the definition of sleek. The aluminum center has a durable feel and looks fantastic, supported by durable plastic sides that have a nice rounded edge and great rubber grips on the bottom. I never thought I needed a monitor display, but boy am I glad that Tekbotic came along and put this one in my hands.

For starters, the stand measures 21.6 inches (length) x 6.6 inches (width) x 1.9 inches (height). Touted as a Universal fit that can work with a variety of monitors, I believe that statement will ring true for most. My Asus monitor is a 24” display, with a particularly wide and round base. Though this base does not fit within the constraints of the stand, its limited overhang did not hinder or impact the final look. From my knowledge, most stands do not sport such a wide and round base. Additionally, I first thought the stand was a bit short, only offering an almost 2” height difference. From what I saw from the competition, many other stands are simply too high. After setting everything up, this 2” was a nice change, though I think it could have been slightly taller. The grips on the undersides of the feet are well made and do a great job of keeping everything in place once it is all said and done.

It is not all about looks though. While Tekbotic has that aspect in the bag, they are also good at bringing forth the “Tech” from their namesake. The front of the stand boasts a whopping 4 USB3 ports, allowing you to sync up accessories and flash drives with ease and style. This HUB is supported on both Windows and Mac platforms. On the back side you will find an additional USB port that, when attached to your PC via an included cable, allows the frontside USB ports to link up to your computer. This is a welcome addition to the overall set up, one that many basic stands will be lacking. The whole rig is supported by AC adapter that hides neatly in the back.

I love this stand. What I love even more was my ability to personalize an already great product. I had a vision during setting it up, one that I brought to fruition with a few cheap purchases. The first personal touch I added was the simple addition of two black yoga blocks. Yoga Blocks? You read that right. These, when laid out horizontally, added an additional 4” of height, perfect for neatly tucking my Xbox One underneath the whole setup. After this, I needed to add the “WOW” factor. Having already purchased bias lighting for my 4K TV in another room, I thought why not expand such a great feature into this set up. I purchased another strip, and ran it along both the bottom of the stand and the back of the monitor with ease to make one hell of an impression. To top it off, the lights plug in easily right into the USB Hub. The final results look AMAZING, I could not be happier with the imagination this stand allowed me to bring to this display. Check out the pics below!

The stand is a bit on the expensive side, but if you have a display you want to show off in style, this is a no brainer. Fork out a bit of extra cash for some home-remedy accessories, and your guests are bound to look twice. Check out all the links below if you are interested in owning for yourself!
