A couple of weeks ago I found myself looking for a new comedy to watch. During the day I like to watch comedies on Netflix (since I have no cable) because they are short and usually don't require your full attention. After over a year of being in my queue I finally watched The IT Crowd, and loved every minute of the short lived series. I remember being initially turned off by the fact that it is a sitcom, but that quickly went away when I was won over by the fantastic writing. Within a week I had burned through the entire series (24 episodes), and didn't know what to do with myself. As the last episode finished, another British cult hit comedy known as The Inbetweeners was recommended to me. A week later I was in the same position, having burned through the 18 episode series in a matter of days. With each series only having six episode long seasons, they were relatively short but offered a dynamic that not many shows do. The short length allowed for a much better continuity of inside jokes and references, which made punchlines deliver all the more. Each show has very different premises but I loved both of them. If you want quick, well written comedy, give these two titles a shot. Both shows are available in full on Netflix Recommended for fans of: The Office, Parks and Rec, South Park, Skins By Edwin Velez
