This weeks Late Night Netflix features a movie documentary titled "All Work All Play." This documentary follows the world of and the recent rise of Electronic Sports, or e-sports, which features competitive gaming in the computer world following games like League of Legends (LOL) and Starcraft. Now i have always been a console oriented gamer and never really followed games like LOL, closest thing i've been in contact with is watching some MLG competitions for Halo or CoD and participating in MLG gamebattles. So watching this documentary I really didn't know anything. It follows mainly american teams but also shows teams from South Korea and talks about how much the sport grew over the years and the challenges that the sport has gone through to produce live shows and events. It was interesting to see how in the esports world South Korea usually is a team favorite and American teams are considered not as good. From my stand point as many of you may know I'm a big pro and college football fan and hockey fan and with that being said, seeing esports have game analysts comparing the teams and making predictions to someone like me not knowing esports sounds insane. But just like any sport, it has commentators and what not. Overall this is a really well put together documentary and shows all aspects of the esports world. A really good watch for the esports and non esports fan. Check it out!
