New free games of May for Playstation and Xbox

With a new month comes new free games for premium subscribers to each respective platforms memberships. Check them out below.

Playstation Plus
  • Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes (PS4)
  • Skulls of the Shogun: Bone-a-fide edition (PS4)
  • Super Exploding Zoo (PS4,PS Vita)
  • Futuridium EP Deluxe (PS4, PS Vita)
  • Call of Juarez: Gunslinger (PS3)
  • Cloudberry Kingdom (PS3)

I am not an MGS fan, but I have played this quick entry in the series. It is not a fully fleshed out experience, but worth a play if you want something quick and to the point. The graphics are gorgeous and controls great. Gunslinger is a game that I always wanted to play but put on the backburner. When I played the demo I found it very enjoyable, but then again I have always been a sucker for a good western (which Call of Juarez: The Cartel was not).

Xbox Live Games with Gold
  • Massive Chalice (Xbox One)
  • Just Cause 2 (Xbox 360, June 1st - June 15th)
  • Thief (Xbox 360, June 16th- June 30th)

Massive Chalice is "a tactical strategy game set on an epic timeline from Double Fine Productions. As the Immortal Ruler of the Nation, you'll take command of its heroes, forge marriages to strengthen your Bloodlines, and battle a mysterious enemy known as the Cadence in a war lasting hundreds of years." (massivechalice.com) It will be free for the next two months. You can also still pick up Pool Nation FX if you haven't yet, but I would suggest you pay for Pure Pool for a much better experience. Both of this months 360 offerings are solid titles, worth a play if you have yet to give them a chance. Just Cause 2 has a horrid story with the most laughable voice acting I have ever heard, but where it fails in substance it more than makes up for with free roam fun. Thief is fun in spurts, but the lifeless world and blandness can get a bit old.
