10/16/2015 0 Comments New Friday The 13th Game Unveiled
Announced via Kickstarter on October 13th, Gun Media shed light on their latest project that aims to bring Jason Voorhees back to the video game world (although he was most recently seen in Mortal Kombat X). The game aims to be both survival horror, letting you fight to survive as a camper, as well as fill the shoes of Jason himself and hunt down the helpless campers. Having worked on Slasher Vol. 1: Summer Camp for sometime now, Gun Media obtained the rights to Friday the 13th and is now building upon that work release a full scale game honoring the classic horror movie.
At the time of writing, the Kickstarter campaign has already cleared half of its $700,000 goal in only two days. This aims to be yet another successful video game project on the fundraising site, and one that I find personally exciting. This is clearly a passion project for the team, and it would be great to see what they could do with the extra funds assuming they pass their goals. The game is expected to be released by Halloween of 2016. Check out the official description and announcement trailer below.
"For the first time since 1989, you have the opportunity to help bring a Friday the 13th video game to life! Stalk camp counselors across Crystal Lake as Jason Voorhees, or assume the role of a helpless camper and attempt to survive the night. Come be a part of this incredible moment in video game and horror history! We definitely can't do it without you. "
