1/14/2021 0 Comments News Drop (Jan.14th, 2021)A quick PC-centric bit of gaming news! Hello everyone, just a little bit of interesting gaming news for you PC gamers today! First off, beautifully illustrated philosophical walking simulator (and inspired by the art of Edvard Munch) Sunlight is officially out now! If you haven’t read our review of it already, it can be found here: Sunlight Review - Player2Reviews It’s a short but interesting experience that might just give you a new outlook on life and as always, every read and share is greatly appreciated! Also, here are some great behind the scenes videos from Krillbite Studio on how the art and music were created for the game!
Next up, an interesting genre-mashup called Hell is Others was announced today for a 2021 release on Steam’s Early Access program. Strelka Games and Yonder publishing are created a game described, oddly enough, as a rogue-like/farming sim. You play as amnesiac Adam Smithson as he wakes up in his apartment one day only to discover that somehow there is a Magnelia Bonsai that wasn’t there before. He decides to go out and get supplies to take care of it. Normally, this would be an easy task, except for the fact that the protagonist lives in a place called Century City, where deadly entities known as The Things roam, blood and bullets are the only forms of currency, and there is a curfew that must be adhered to at all times because your life depends on it. Blood is important for two reasons: as a form of currency and as a means to nourish your plants so they can grow bullets for it. Yep, bullet-plants. The types of bullets are plant specific and (much like in the extremely popular Metro series) you must balance out using them for survival vs using them as money. The most interesting bit about Hell is Others is...well, The Others. There is a multiplayer aspect added to give an extra layer of tension to your city explorations. The Others are other players out and about hunting for supplies as you are, and if you’re feeling brave you can try to take them out and grab their goods. Just don’t end up a victim yourself. It sounds like a promising game, and we’ll update when a more concrete release day is announced! If you want to know more in the meantime, the Steam store page can be found here: Hell is Others on Steam (steampowered.com) Not in the mood to click links? Here are some screenshots to get you started! Thanks for stopping by and good gaming!
