4/1/2017 0 Comments POWER RANGERS (2017) ReviewNote: This Review Contains Spoilers Get ready to relive your childhood the way you remember it, sitting in front of the T.V. on a Saturday morning in your pajamas (Well that’s at least that’s how I watched power rangers). This movie kicks off the reboot of the series and brings back the famous Power Rangers characters from the early television shows and movies. The movie starts off with a clip taking place during ancient times where the original power rangers gave their life to protect this stone thing that an evil former power ranger Rita wanted. From there, the typical character development happens and then they stumble on to the power ranger stones which will help them unlock their powers. From there they meet Zordon, one of the original power rangers from the beginning of the movie, who sacrificed himself to save the stone. Zordon then trians the rangers to morph into their armor. Rita comes back and begins to search for the stone and the power rangers come together to stop her. I thought Power Rangers was a pretty good movie, even now while trying to remove my nostalgia glasses and analyze the movie. The five main rangers screen-time was split but the Red Ranger was the set “leader” as is series tradition, but I didn’t think he really pushed to be the leader compared to how the old movies pushed him. The Blue Ranger had the biggest and the best part of them, while the others didn’t really leave a distinct lasting impression on me. The overall action and was fighting was good but some of the CGI work got to be a little too much. All in all Power Ranges was a good movie. If you saw the originals or are new to the series you’d like it, but I would wait for the discount movie day or when its on redbox. Final Score: 6/10
