We are getting closer and closer to Oct 25th the release day of Farming Simulator 17 on consoles and PC. With the past Gamescon trailer which featured a train that was hauling logs and had grain cars, there also was a scene where the train was stopped at a grain elevator. This brought up a lot of questions about these trains and recently there was a blog post by the Farm Simulator developers which highlighted a lot of these questions. There will be drivable trains in the game and on the North American Goldcrest Valley map there will be two train lines. The trains will be able to transport produce and wooden logs. The produce will be loaded by silo pipes and the wood will be loaded on manually with cranes. The trains make moving produce and timber in big quantities easy and fast, rather than using semis and driving back and forth with only one type of produce. Animals will have to be transported in special trailers on the road. The two train lines cover a big majority of the map so moving produce or timber will be easy and quick. You can select in the options to not use the trains if desired, but they look fun and will help out your farm tremendously.
