Shiness: The Lightning Kingdom is a new action RPG coming this fall by French indie game developer studio Enigami and published by Focus Home Interactive. You play as a young Waki (which looks kind of like a race of humanoid foxes) named Chado who with his 5 companions, crash lands their flying boat into a hostile land in which the kingdoms are in the midst of a power struggle with each other. Chado believes that he can end this dispute with the help of the Shiness, a magical spirit that only he can see. This is what is known about the story so far. The game has a beautiful looking world full of secrets and danger to explore, and each character has important skills that can help with exploring and interacting with the world, such as Chado’s ability to summon boulders that he can then put down on a pressure plate to hold open a door. The fighting system sounds pretty interesting. You engage the enemy in one-on-one duels. Combat uses classic fighting game style gameplay mechanics like punching, kicking, blocking, doing combos, in addition to using magic. Your allies can help you from the sidelines by casting spells to boost your strength, or heal you. They can also switch with you at any time. You can also find parchments in the world that let you learn new techniques, and find equipment to make you stronger. Combining fighting game style combat with RPG mechanics with exploration, puzzle solving, and gorgeous cel-shaded graphics, I can say that Shiness: The Lightning Kingdom has my interest.
Starting this week, people will have the chance to preorder Shiness on Steam. There are some decent incentives that come with the preorder such as;
While the game doesn’t have an exact release date yet, it’s slated for sometime in fall, 2016. It will be released on Xbox One, PC, and PS4. I am really enthusiastic about the release of this game. I hope that they would introduce new purchasable downloadable contents in the future. I also hope that they would incorporate their game servers into steam. It will not only help boost their sales, but will also attract a lot of potential buyers. I will surely try to purchase an early beta copy of this game once released.

After watching the teaser trailer of shiness, I feel like I am now into anime shows. This seems to be really fun to play. I believe a lot adults, and not just kids, will enjoy this. I like how this game combines fighting game stay combat with exploration and puzzle solving. I think that's what makes it really interesting. I wonder what are the new developments in the gaming industry.
