Dead Rising 3 was the first title I bought on my Xbox One, so it is near and dear to my heart. Just playing it brings back all the excitement of being lined up at midnight in front of Best Buy and being the second person at the store to buy their Xbox One. That is besides the point, but brings us to how great of a launch title Dead Rising 3 was. It exhibited an awesome open world and brought all the zany weirdness of the Dead Rising series to the next generation of console gaming. Stuck in a quarantine set in a zombie filled knock off of Los Angeles is Nick Santos, our zombie killing mechanic turned hero. There is so much fun to be had across the game. It was all the more impressive that it was load screen free as you traversed across the well sized map. With plenty of weapons and a bunch of crazy-awesome weapon combos, there were tons of ways to kill the huge masses of zombies on screen. There were also a good amount of vehicles as well, which were also combinable and made for great killing machines on wheels. This entry was much more laid back than the previous one, and really let you flesh the game out without having to worry about the ticking clock of impending doom. All in all it showed what we could expect from new consoles, and gave players a great open world experience that was just the tip of the iceberg in terms of using the technology. If you have yet to play Dead Rising 3, do yourself and pick it up.
FINAL SCORE:8/10
