Crafty stuff
Now I’ll admit at first when I saw my younger brother playing Minecraft I thought it was developed for younger gamers. But after I tried it for myself I was quick to change my opinion on it because of the vast diversity of such as simple idea. The whole principle of the game is you’re Steve a pixelated character and you have the ability to build the world around you up by using simple pixel blocks that have different textures and colors for the ability to construct different structures and also craft some blocks into tools.
When you start out you don't really have an objective, its free open world play which is nice, no stress of figuring out objectives or having to complete missions. Instead the only issue you have to battle is that of the night. When the sun goes down in the game different “Monsters” come out. Anything from zombies, skeletons, spiders and much much more. These “Monsters” can attack you only at night but when the sun comes up they catch on fire which is pretty comical. You have simple ways on how to convert different blocks and then turn them into different building materials. For example you can chop down trees to make wooden planks, then from there you can build them into tools like an ax or pick ax to better mine materials.

Now there isn't many games like this where you can create so much like that of Minecraft. Only a few off the top of my head are the Halo 3 Forge gameplay mode and then Tony Hawk skate park creators but those are very limited with only set placeable items. Now Minecraft takes this to a whole new level not only can you create pretty much anything you can imagine you can fashion any blocks into more materials. Now as you develop more into the game you can use different devices that have different purposes that are powered using a rock in the game called “redstone” now the red stone can power many different things in the game that can be as simple as opening a door or a trap to something that powers a minecart that goes through a whole roller-coaster system. There is so many different things to do with redstone to power so many different items.
Overall Minecraft is a very good game with so much to do and so much to even explore with all the different type of blocks to mine. The controls on the Xbox are simple and flow pretty well the customization and the ability to create whatever you want is a real big plus. There isn’t a whole lot to say bad about this game. Only thing that I would change is having a better help guide because it took me a while to understand how some of the things in the game work, but that is also part of the fun. Minecraft is a great game for all ages and I would definitely recommend. 8.5 / 10
